MAGICS is the national infrastructure for human in the digital world, and a community built around six academic nodes across Finland: University of Lapland, Aalto University, Tampere University, Uniarts, Turku University of Applied Sciences, and University of Jyväskylä. This event is part of the MAGICS Talks series organised at each MAGICS node annually.

In this event, we focus on emerging developments at the intersection of virtual production, immersive experiences, and new forms of cinema. Through a series of presentations and a panel discussion, we explore how technological innovation and research are reshaping storytelling. The programme introduces the Virtual Studio at the University of Lapland, offers insight into experimental sensory experiences through the Barefoot Tactile Virtual Autumn Forest research, and presents the Arctic Indigenous Cinema Masters Programme as a forward-looking initiative in inclusive and culturally grounded film education.

Together with the panel discussion, these talks highlight how virtual environments, AI, and novel production methods are expanding the language of cinema and creating new possibilities for experience design.
