The VillaInno project at the Faculty of Art and Design, University of Lapland, invites everyone interested in Finnish wool and crafts to join the full-day VillaInno seminar on 22 October.

The event takes place at University of Lapland’s Esko and Asko Hall from 8:30 to 17:30, with an online stream available from 9:15 to 16:00. Morning presentations will be in English and afternoon sessions in Finnish.

The seminar explores key perspectives on Finnish native sheep wool, the revitalisation of traditional wool crafts, and the creative and sustainable use of local materials. The program includes presentations, workshops, a panel discussion, exhibition visits, and networking opportunities.

Speakers include Anna-Karoliina Tetri (Tetri Design), Annika Konttaniemi (Susivilla), Satu Kumpulainen (Isokumpu sheep farm and spinning mill), and many other wool and craft professionals. The panel discussion “Finnish Wool Products – Now and in the Future” will address current developments and future directions in Finnish wool design and production.
