Become part of our alumni network

We would like to welcome all former students and employees of the University of Lapland to become part of our alumni network. We would like to stay in touch with you after your graduation and support you further in your academic career. If you indicated that you wanted to join the alumni network when filling out the graduation application for a master’s or doctoral degree, your participation request has already been registered. You can also join the alumni network later!

Apply to become a doctoral researcher

Are you interested in pursuing a doctoral degree? Get in touch with a professor representing the field closest to your planned research topic to discuss your research proposal, research plan and other studies included in your doctoral degree. To be able to apply for the study right in a doctoral programme, you are required to prepare a research plan and a personal study plan.

Studies after graduation

After graduating from the University of Lapland, you can continue your studies with a separate study right. Apply for the study right through the Open University. In the application, indicate which study modules or courses you want to apply for. The studies are free of charge for the first two years if the courses are not booked full. You can apply for a separate study right whenever it suits you.
