The Christmas Experience Academy –Summer School is organized in close collaboration with local tourism organizations, engaging lecturers, students and tourism professionals to jointly explore the production and consumption of tourism experiences in Rovaniemi – the official home town of Santa Claus.

Our partners will offer us an access to the their backstages, showing what it is to product responsible tourism experiences in Rovaniemi.

Organisers

Visit Rovaniemi is the local tourist board of the Rovaniemi region in Lapland, Finland. Visit Rovaniemi engages in image marketing, media visits, communications and PR, tourist information and congress marketing (Rovaniemi Congresses). Upholding and strengthening the “Rovaniemi, the Official Hometown of Santa Claus” brand is part of their task.

Hostel Café Koti is situated right in the city center of Rovaniemi. Antti and Tuulia, entrepreneurs of Koti, designed the place and atmosphere to represent their values and interests towards pure nature and ingredients, wellbeing and authenticity. They wanted the place to be easy going and welcoming for both travelers and locals.

Arktikum is a science center and museum that lets you experience northern nature, culture, and history up close. Housing the University of Lapland’s Arctic Center and the Regional Museum of Lapland, we stimulate thought, encourage debate, and provide a deeper understanding of the Arctic. See, explore and enjoy the Arctic stories shared through our experiential exhibitions and events!

Bearhill Husky is a family run husky kennel based in Rovaniemi, Lapland! In 2003 we decided to realize a dream and established Bearhillhusky in the small town of Lieksa in North Carelia. The first years were a steep learning curve and can only be described as adventurous and uncertain. At first we concentrated on longer tours in the wilds of North Carelia, but as our family grew, and our services were more and more in demand in Lapland we decided to relocate to Rovaniemi, and focus on day trips and shorter tours. Since 2012 the family has been permanently located in Rovaniemi. It’s our passion to work with dogs, breed them, train them and let them be the best dogs they can be. It is exactly this passion we love to share with you!

Korundi House of Culture is a space for people and the arts in Rovaniemi. It is home to Rovaniemi Art Museum and the Lapland Chamber Orchestra, showing the world from a northern perspective. Choco Deli is a café-pâtisserie specialising in handmade chocolates and confectionery. We treat our chocolate like artisans – with passion, pride, and Lappish courage.

Santa’s Igloos Arctic Circle, 71 luxurious, spacious glass igloos, reception and Restaurant Arctic Eye are located at the Santa Claus Village on the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi.
