TEACH AND LEARN – Pair Work Programme

The Language Centre instructs and supervises Teach and Learn – the pair work programme in which students guide each other to their own language and culture. Students meet each other regularly every week, and discuss predetermined topics. At the beginning of the course, the course contents are agreed on with a Language Centre teacher who will also be reported on meetings and proceeding of studying via the journal.

The aim of Teach and Learn – the pair work programme is to

  1. provide an opportunity to get to know the culture and life of the target country as well as develop communication skills in the target language
  2. use both languages equally so that speakers of both languages get to practise the target language
  3. increase contacts between Finns and foreigners
  4. help foreign students to adapt to Finnish life and on the other hand prepare Finnish students for foreign internship.
