Academic Mobility

Lapland Academic Mobility Services support and facilitate the international mobility of teachers, researchers and staff within the university’s network of established partner institutions. Comprehensive guidance is offered throughout all stages of mobility — from planning and application to administrative coordination.

If your institution does not yet have a partnership with the University of Lapland but you are planning a visit, or if you are interested in developing partnerships, please refer to the appropriate webpages for more information.

International experience strengthens competence and community.

Teacher & Staff Mobility

The University of Lapland offers various opportunities for teachers, researchers, and staff from partner institutions and beyond to visit and collaborate. Whether you are coming for a short-term Teacher or Staff Mobility or planning a longer visit, we are happy to support you in making the most of your stay.

If you visit University of Lapland through Erasmus+ Teacher Mobility, your stay will typically last five days, during which you will deliver eight hours of teaching to students.

Once you get in touch with us, we will assist you in finding a suitable module or course that aligns with your teaching expertise. You can already explore the courses offered at University of Lapland in our Study guide.

In addition to the teaching component of your stay, you are encouraged to include cultural activities as part of your visit. We are happy to offer suggestions, or you can find further inspiration here.

If you are coming to University of Lapland through a Staff Mobility, there are several meaningful ways to shape your visit.

We encourage staff exchanges for job shadowing, participation in workshops, and professional discussions. Staff Mobility provides valuable opportunities for mutual learning and exchange — benefiting both the sending and the hosting institutions, and strengthening collaboration between them.

After getting in touch with us, we will help you find a suitable host unit at the University of Lapland that matches your professional interests and goals.

In addition to your professional activities, you are encouraged to include cultural experiences as part of your stay. We are happy to offer suggestions, or you can find further inspiration here.

If you are interested in staying at the university for a longer period, we warmly encourage you to get in touch with us. Together, we can discuss your individual goals, interests, and needs, and explore the possibilities for accommodating them within our university community.

Accommodation & Travel

When planning your travel and stay, please make sure to check prices in advance. Rovaniemi is a popular tourist destination — especially between November and March — and prices during the high season can be significantly higher than at other times of the year.
