The Centre of Excellence for Multibeing Justice in Indigenous Societies (MultiBEING) organises open lectures at the main campus of the university.

MultiBEING researchers will present their newly launched research, and visiting lecturers will address the Centre’s broader research themes.

Visiting speakers include Professor Carl Mika (University of Canterbury, New Zealand), whose research focuses on Māori and other Indigenous philosophies and ontologies, and Professor Jérémie Gilbert (University of Southampton, UK), who studies Indigenous land rights and ecological justice.

Further speakers include Professor Alexandra Xanthaki (Brunel Law School, UK), who serves as the UN Special Rapporteur in the field of cultural rights, and Emeritus Professor Tim Ingold (University of Aberdeen, UK), who is known for his work rethinking the relationships between humans, the environment, and the material world.

The detailed programme will be published closer to the event.

The Centre of Excellence, funded by the Research Council of Finland, will operate during the 2026–2033 programme period.
