About speaker:
Heather specializes in research, evaluation, and technical assistance with and for Indigenous Nations and their partners. From Homer, Alaska, she is Iñupiaq and a tribal citizen of the Nome Eskimo Community. Dr. Gordon holds a PhD in Indigenous Studies with a concentration in Indigenous Sustainability.

She is a relationship builder, knowledge translator, science diplomat, Fulbright Arctic Initiative IV scholar, co-chair for the International Conferences on Arctic Research Planning IV Sustainable Communities priority III, and on multiple advisory boards. She served on the US National Academy of Sciences Co-Production of Environmental Knowledge, Methods, and Approaches committee and was a co-lead for the Global Indigenous Youth Summit on Climate Change in 2023 and 2024.
